I haven't tried this with shaved chocolate yet but I usually use mix.It does a good job using Ghirardelli Chocolate Premium Hot Cocoa Mix, Double Chocolate, 16-Ounce Tins (Pack of 4) and powered milk.Good looking would grace any tray at a Ladies Tea.Unfortunately it makes 3 polite 166ml cups or one good sized mug.Also useful for making powered drinks like spiced cider.Can be used as a tea press by inserting loose tea, adding water, then inserting the plunger.Leave the plunger up to brew or give it a stroke or 2, once appropriate time has passed press slowly down on plunger to remove loose tea leaves. Nicely made porcelain; I would not recommend this for camping unless you have a butler and staff.Make sure that the poor opening in the lid is closed when you work the plunger!(Or have the maid do it.)
The drawback is that there are plastic parts so I would be cautious about preheating in the oven.
