This little gadget is GREAT; lightwight and so easy to clean, you basically just rinse it off. Goodbye to cleaning the milk frother on my steam-operated espresso machine. This Trudeau milk frother is a little marvel. It makes a rich and thick foam. I tried it with whole and reduced-fat milk and it works for both whether warm or cold. The only downside is that it strains my thumb when using it as you have to really press down the button to operate it. the design needs some improvement to be more ergonomic.
Here are some tips for making a perfect latte:
1- Warm up the milk in the microwave. Heating time depends on the microwave itself and the amount of the milk. 50 sec is what I do. Becareful not to let the milk get so hot as it well not taste as good.
2- froth the milk. Concentrate on frothing the top only until you reach the desired thickness (usually the milk will double in volume).
3- pour in the espresso and warm the latte again in the microwave as it might have lost some warmth while being frothed (usually 10 - 15 sec).
and voila you have a nice cup of latte in about 2 min. Enjoy!
