Cook Pro Stainless Kitchen Tools With Milk Can Holder, Set of 6 Review

Cook Pro Stainless Kitchen Tools With Milk Can Holder, Set of 6Nothing to special. A good price for a stainless set of utensils. Some kind of cushion grip would be nicer though. The meat fork is a little dangerous if you store it in the the can handle side down. You could turn it around but then it looks kinda weird. So just stick it in a drawer.

Bodum Mousse One-Touch Battery Operate Milk Frother Review

Bodum Mousse One-Touch Battery Operate Milk FrotherLike the first 3 reviewers i was annoyed when my milk hardly frothed ( i was used to the handheld aerolatte)and sulked for 2 weeks! I finally took the manual out to read again and realised that i needed to adjust the spring mesh to the amount of milk i had in the beaker.i.e: if i poured milk up to the max. line of the beaker, i needed to move the curved part (middle) of the mesh up, so that it sits on the surface of milk. like wise if i put less milk, lower the curve of the mesh. it is important that the mesh sits on the surface of the milk. I now have have nice delicious frothy coffee every morning. here's a link to explain better http://www.fantes.com/manuals/bodum-mousse-frother.pdf enjoy!

The world of coffee would only be half exciting if there was not that delicious layer of milk foam sitting on top of it, bringing any coffee to its perfection! From lattes to cappuccinos, the MOUSSE electric milk frother lets you prepare seductively smooth and dense milk foam with the push of a button! The milk frother features a world novelty: The patented blender, a spiral attached to the rod, can be adjusted according to the amount of milk that needs frothing. How does it work? When frothing a little milk, move the spiral on the rod downwards. Move it upwards when frothing the maximum amount of milk - this is the secret for turning any ordinary milk into extraordinary!Simply press the button on top of the lid and the compact MOUSSE turns milk within 20 seconds into frothy foam. Then, spoon it out of the carafe on top of your coffee. Use warm or cold skimmed milk for easy frothing. The glass carafe is made of heat- resistant, see-through ultra-light borosilicate glass. The lid is made of plastic covered with non-slip rubber and can be wiped dry with a damp soft cloth. The carafe is dishwasher and microwave safe.Requires 2-AA batteries, not included.

BonJour Oval Frother with Stand, Black Review

BonJour Oval Frother with Stand, BlackI've had several frothers and this is the strongest, fastest churning frother I've owned. I don't like frothers that have the on/off button as a slider that can't do quick bursts or that isn't on top or where your fingers or thumb naturally fall. This one has the button conveniently on the top and works perfectly for quick bursts.

Definately recommended.

Aerolatte Stainless-Steel Deluxe Edition Frother with Stand, Chrome Review

Aerolatte Stainless-Steel Deluxe Edition Frother with Stand, ChromeI must admit, when I first heard of these immersion frothers, I was very skeptical.I had tried many frothers, cappuccino machines with built in frothers (work great first 2 times, then they always clog) and plunger frothers(can you say carpal tunnel syndrome??) etc. After much time AND much effort, there was very little reward, almost no froth and much frustration, not to mention cleanup.I tried the plunger types repeatedly to the point where I was sure I'd have blisters.Did Imention having to disassemble & clean all the frother parts after?:o)

So began my quest for an easy, effective way to obtain cappuccino style froth for my morning java. I searched java junkie message boards and decided to give the Aerolatte a try.I couldn't have been more amazed and pleased.
This little gadget runs on 2 AA batteries (included) and comes with a metal counter stand so it's easily accessible.I unboxed it and gave it a whirl, seemed sturdy and surprisingly fast. Now for the coffee test.Hmmm.So I brewed a pot (french press) of strong coffee and poured a little half & half in my mug and let 'er rip.All I can say is AWESOME!!I was totally shocked at how quick and easy the Aerolatte whipped it into froth.Seriously, comparable to the froth from Starbucks.I couldn't believe it.

The instructions recommend skim or low fat milk, which also frothed up just as thick and rich.Wow!!!!When you are finished, run the unit under under the faucet or in a cup of water to clean. Incredibly cool that you create the froth right in your coffee mug.Simple as that, no extra equipment to clean.
Be brave, experiment a little.I prefer heating my mug with sugar & half & half in the microwave for 30 seconds, froth for about 30 seconds & pour in coffee. VoilaCoffee house quality cappuccino and no pots or tubes to clean.Pretty spectacular!

Details:Gotta admit, the stand that arrived with mine is cool to look at, very high-tech, but poorly designed & a tad annoying as you need 2 hands to remove the frother or put it back in.Ok, but not ideal.Luckily, Aerolatte must have realized this, as they have since redesigned the stand & replaced with an even cooler (hopefully more functional) design.
The battery life is excellent (at least 4 weeks of daily use), however I would recommend investing in rechargeable batteries and charger, as the unit is much more efficient and faster with strong batteries.
My first Aerolatte burned out after a little over a year of heavy usage.I loved it so much I purchased another. The price is reasonable as my unit was packaged with the unit, stand and matching shaker for toppings (cinnamon, cocoa, etc)

Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed!Bravo Aerolatte

20 oz ESPRESSO COFFEE MILK FROTHING PITCHER BARISTA Review

20 oz ESPRESSO COFFEE MILK FROTHING PITCHER BARISTAI am using this to froth about 6 oz of milk for two cappuccinos, and it is just the right size. After frothing the foam rises to about 2/3 - 3/4 of the pitcher volume, so one pours at a comfortable starting angle without spilling a drop. The pronounced spout is also helpful in this respect. This pitcher is very easy to clean and looks great beside our stainless espresso machine.

Krups 030 Perfect Froth Milk Frother Review

Krups 030 Perfect Froth Milk FrotherKrups has been installing a hard plastic cover on the frother wand of their recent models. This technology is neither as effective nor as resilient as the old "perfect froth" attachment. My hard plastic one broke within two weeks, and sending it back to Krups elicited no response at all, so I just bought the "perfect froth" attachment, and it works fine.

Saeco MI-GL-04 Milk Island, 0.4 Liter Review

Saeco MI-GL-04 Milk Island, 0.4 LiterFirst of, I used to be a big Saeco fan - I have used them for many years. But this milk island is just junk. As the other reviewers here report, it has a tendency to leak water in copious amounts after a few weeks of use. We actually sent ours in to Saeco (a sheer nightmare) and since we got it back, it does not leak anymore so this can be fixed. Good news, right? Well, if it only would froth the milk it would be great but it doesn't. Occasionally, like every 20th time or so, you get nice frothy milk. The other 19 times you get hot, runny milk with barely a film of froth. This is ridiculous. I have tried every type of milk there is and that doesn't make much of a difference. I will now have to buy one of the cheap little frothers to sit next to my $2,000 Saeco because that machine can't froth, milk island or wand!

Product Description:
Exclusively designed for the Saeco Talea super-automatic espresso machine, this unique appliance creates rich, creamy froth in seconds for macchiatos, cappuccinos, lattes, or other specialty drinks. The unit sits conveniently next to the machine rather than being a built-in piece, making it easy to operate and maintain. To use, simply connect the black hose to the steam output on the bottom left side of the Saeco Talea; place the glass carafe filled with up to 13-1/2 ounces of fresh, cold milk on the base; and turn the machine's steam knob to the Milk Island icon. Steam gets sent to the milk frother, steaming milk to 160 degrees F and creating frothed milk in seconds. The milk frother features a glass carafe with a black plastic handle, base, and pouring spout. The milk frother measures 3-3/4 by 3-3/4 by 5-3/4 inches and cleans easily under the tap or in the dishwasher.

Nespresso Aeroccino Automatic Milk Frother Review

Nespresso Aeroccino Automatic Milk FrotherWhen Aeroccino works, it works great. It is quick and quiet, and produces excellent foam. Clean up is very easy. But, there is something inherently unstable about Aeroccino machines.Since August, I managed to kill three of them and I am not sure why. Part of it is the nature of the machine: because it is constructed like a water kettle, one should not submerge it into water. But because it is designed to heat milk, the manufacturer allows putting it under running water as long as the bottom of the machine remains dry. If you get the bottom wet (and you will), the machine either trips (and heals itself after fully drying) or dies. I suspect, my first two Aeroccinos died such deaths. My third one died today.I frothed milk with it, refilled it and tried again (without cleaning in between) and the machine did not work.I tried again and it worked for 20 seconds and stopped. I tried again a couple hours later and it worked for 10 seconds and stopped. I am not sure why it is so, but I suspect it has to do with the magnetic foaming brushes you must insert into the machine to make it work. If anyone has ideas why this is so, let me know.
On the positive side I keep calling the company and they keep sending me new machines. I really like Aeroccino when it works. But I suspect it will be the good old microwave when I finally run out of warranty.

BonJour Mini Frother Review

BonJour Mini Frotherafter several poor, to put it mildly, experiences with another frothier from Krups, I got this since some friends like froth on their coffee or in their milk.I've had it a little more than two years - wow coming up three years, have used it with friends around the house and while camping -- and it's never failed. Once you get it down -- it's a wonder.I runs on batteries, and so you want to make sure you have some good charged batteries around. As the batteries lose their power, this thing will slow down (DUH!) -- BUT fresh batteries make all the difference in the world -- and this tiny little power house has been in the far reaches of Nevada and it's heat, and dunked in water to clean - and as long as you KNOW it's battery powered, and keep three sets of batteries, it should last you breakfast and breaks for years -- I carry two charged sets of batteries, and one new set that needs a full charge plus the solar charger -- and I've never had any trouble at all -- at home or on the trail. There may be better battery ones out there -- but like back-packing pressure cookers, there's not a lot to chose from and at the time this was the only one.The fact that it has lasted so long in heat and dust and water and sand and grit and kept working -- I'm impressed since you see my one star rating of the Krups - who make many good products, however, this is not one of them -- three years coming up and no trouble if you keep the batteries up.How Long does a set of batteries last?Well I don't froth, but my friends do, and I'd give it a good 4 days with them drinking coffee perhaps four or five times a day -- and then i needs a battery charge.the longer you use he set of batteries, the less charge they keep, so when it gets down to about lasting less than a day with a full charge the day before -- I toss the batteries, and put in a fresh pack, and charge up the new pack -- so when it slows down, it's simply switch out batteries -- and while most don't think solar cells will charge by lantern light --so even when was caught in several days of clouds and snow and wind in Nevada, the battery charger charged fine off a Mantle light.

It's small, it fits in your drawer and doesn't take up counter space, and if anyone wants foma -- or whipped milk, it's always in the back-pack or on a shelf in the 'kitchen area' -- ready to spin and do what it's suppose to!

Some people have had a problem with a frothier I also own (Aerolatte) where the screws came out of the head -- electrical tape keeps the top on -- as does duct tape.and I rate them the same -- Aerolatte and this one are about the same in overall working quality -- this one is lighter and a bit smaller for back-packing.But works well at home.Lock-tight works on screws and bolts that vibrate lose.In fact, I have to say that tape is quicker and easier than screws!

Bialetti Cappuccino and Latte Set Review

Bialetti Cappuccino and Latte SetI could not resist trying this method of making espresso. You know you can spend alot trying to get a decent product and I have not been disappointed with the practically inexpensive Bialetti. The first attempt was successful and that told me this was for me....the bonus milk frother made more froth that an old steamer frother I used to have. There are a few tricks with the frother(1% milk by itself not so good but add some half and half to the milk and voile').The milk mixture needs to be heated enough to coat the back of a spoon, pump it quickly and serve.Regarding the espresso maker itself....just don't add any more water than to that line..and oh don't open the lid to look at it until it is done or you will get sputter onto your stove top.To know when the espresso is done just listen you will know when it is done....very quick and yummm.

Nespresso C100-US-AERO Essenza Automatic Single-Serve Espresso Machine with Nespresso Aeroccino Milk Frother Review

Nespresso C100-US-AERO Essenza Automatic Single-Serve Espresso Machine with Nespresso Aeroccino Milk FrotherI was initially reluctant to buy this based on the fact that they use proprietary pods. Had that reluctance stuck with me, I probably would've spent a few hundred more on a high-quality manual espresso machine, or over a thousand on an automatic machine. $.52 a cup is reasonable when you consider that grinding your own works out to about $.30 a cup, but yields a greater mess and requires more soap and water for cleanup each time. With two little kids at home - who has time to clean? I was absolutely giddy the first time I used both the machine and the frother. Separately and together, both machines match or rival what all too many of us pay $3-5 for from the local coffee shop. I'm convinced that our friends will like us more if we decide to share some of this with them. I bought this at Williams-Sonoma based on loyalty as I had sampled it 3 times over a two week period and finally couldn't take it anymore. I had to have one! Consumer reports also ranks this machine highest in its class. The only machine that offered comparable taste was larger, cost about a grand, and requires more cleaning.

BonJour Primo Latte Frother, Rechargeable Includes Electric Base Review

BonJour Primo Latte Frother, Rechargeable Includes Electric BaseThe one bit of very important information that is not stated anywhere (in the description OR in the reviews here, until this one) is that this is no different than any other 2-AA battery powered frother. It simply has 2 PERMANENTLY MOUNTED (non user replaceable) nickel cadmium 1.2 volt 600 ma AA batteries inside of it.

This means that if you store it on the counter in the charger after every use, it will quickly develop the dreaded "memory effect" of nickel cadmium batteries (i.e., if you use it for only one minute at a time before recharging it, the batteries begin to "think" that they only have enough power for one minute).

Since these batteries aren't user replaceable, the item quickly becomes JUNK.

You could get the exact same thing by purchasing a standard 2-AA battery powered frother, then using NiCad AA batteries in it. A better option would be to use nickel metal hydride AA batteries, as those would run at 1.3 volts, and not suffer from a memory effect. They would also hold more power, as 600 ma in an AA is a VERY low standard nowadays. (Most NiMH AA batteries are available at 1800 ma at the lowest and go up to 2900 ma.)

Better yet is to just use a regular 2-AA battery powered frother with regular alkaline 1.5 volt batteries in it, as that will give you the best performance AND have user replaceable batteries. (You could even use lithium AA if you wanted something stronger still.)

Avoid this garbage item.

Fred and Friends Spilt MilkI came across this bowl at Land of Nod.My son is 22 months and it is perfect for him!He is "over" the suction bowls and still too young for me to feel comfortable putting ceramic bowls in front of him. This bowl is perfect... it is deep enough so that you can put a portion in there for him and he still has plenty of room to scoop it up the sides with his spoon or fork (still learning with utensils).I basically wash this bowl each time he eats so that it is ready for the next meal.LOVE IT!

Krups XS5020 20-Ounce Stainless-Steel Milk Frothing Pitcher Review

Krups XS5020 20-Ounce Stainless-Steel Milk Frothing PitcherThis product is inexpensive and well constructed.

But I think I did a mistake my not purchasing a smaller pitcher. I have a Mc Coffee machine that makes a decent cappuccino and I needed a pitcher such as this one. Unfortunately, I did not notice that the size of this pitcher was too large given the length of the steamer in my coffee machine. I am the only one who drinks coffee in my household, so I usually need only a small quantity of milk for my cappuccino. But then I found out that if I use the quantity of milk I usually need, the steamer does not even touch the milk, because the pitcher is too deep.

So, I would recommend this pitcher highly if you routinely prepare at least two cappuccinos, but otherwise you may want to check carefully the size of both the pitcher and the steamer in your coffee machine before buying this product.

BonJour Café Latte Frother, Battery Powered, White/ Gray Review

BonJour Café Latte Frother, Battery Powered, White/ GrayI've had several hand frothers (admitted coffee geek here). The two-battery ones (areolattes) died quickly, and other four-battery ones are more expensive.I even "built" a 4 battery frother out of a used Bonjour Turbo cuisine, and one of my leftover whisks from the broken areolattes. When that rig started falling apart, I looked at the various 4 battery options.Despite some of the other reviews, I went for this one, figuring I could always rig in an old frother whisk if I didn't like the frothing disk.

I am so happy with it, I just bought a spare.

The battery insertion is tricky, you have to figure out on your own which of the two batteries have the plus side (button) up, into the lid (where there are plastic ridges so that you'd "know" that the negative side wouldn't work).

I love the disk vs. the typical whisk. It stays much cleaner (I use it to mix other stuff), and I've had no problem frothing skim milk. You have to follow the directions and move the disk up and down in the milk to get the best results.

Soyapower Plus soy milk maker, rice milk maker, nut milk maker Review

Soyapower Plus soy milk maker, rice milk maker, nut milk makerThere are very few reviews of this machine online, probably because it is so new, and there are many reviews of it's main competitor (the OTHER filterless soy milk maker!)

I've made soy milk by hand before, it's tiring and requires your attention at all times to prevent boilovers. This machine make it extremely easy. Soak the beans for a few hours, then put them in the machine with water and press the button..Voila!

What you get:
- Pitcher, this is where it is cooked, it has a non-removable plastic covering that dampens sound and insulates the heat.
- Head unit, this has the blending blades, the heating element and the electronics. It clamps down to the pitcher
- A plastic pitcher, this is where you would pour the soymilk from the cooking pitcher into to filter it
- A sieve/filter with a handle. You put this over your plastic pitcher and then pour the soy milk form the cooking pitcher into it to filer out the "Okara" (soy pulp). Sort of cheap, but it does the job. I suggest you invest in a $5 "gold coffee filter" that is used instead of paper coffee filters in coffee machines, the fine mesh of the coffee filter really gets out the tiny soy particles!
- A cleaning pad and a little brush. For cleaning, though you can just wipe it with a dishcloth.
- A recipe book. This actually looks more like a print out of a web page where people posted their recipes. In fact...I've seen the web page that this was printed from!
- Instructions. Bad English, but it's a simple machine and the instructions are clear enough.
- Power cord. This attaches to the head unit much like a computer power cable.
- A sample of "Laura" Soy Beans. I ordered like 20 lbs of these special Laura beans online...for about the same price that I can get soybeans from the local "Whole Foods" store. I didn't notice any difference at all, though the Laura Beans (I think they all come from one farm) are non GMO (not Genetically Modified Organisms), as I'm sure the Whole Foods bulk beans are, but don't specifically say. They give you enough beans to make two batches of soy milk.

The pro:
- It makes soymilk as advertised as well as giving options to make other drinks. There are 4 settings. The soymilk is as good as you'll get from any machine.

- Cleanup is fast and easy. Many people complain about the machines that use filters as the filter is hard to clean. This machine is basically a blender with heat. Once the drink is made, you unclip the head unit, run some cool water on it and brush/wipe it down. Pretty easy!

- The pitcher is somewhat insulated for heat and sound. The soymilk is HOT when it comes out, but the pitcher is covered with an insulating plastic covering so it won't burn you if you touch it. Also the sounds is muffled a bit so you can use it at night withough your kids waking up! The sound is less volume than a blender and lower frequency too so it's more of a rumble than a blending sound.

- The head unit clamps to the pitcher, so that helps with sound and probably helps with accidentally knocking the head off the pitcher.

- Handle on the head unit is sturdy and locks in the upward position, or folds down. This is very useful when cleaning. You can hold the head by the handle and run the dirty parts under water. When you put it away, you can just fold it down. I would not try and carry the unit full of water/soymilk by the handle though, use the side pitcher handle!

- It heats the water/beans BEFORE it starts grinding. This is a huge plus because apparently if you grind cold beans it will result in very "beany" tasting soymilk. Making soymilk by hand and grinding with hot water and then filtering is not pleasant...this machine does it for you!
Some cheaper machines may just grind the beans first and then heat the ground beans/water.

- It's filterless. This means you dump the beans and water into the main pitcher. You don't have to load up a little filter basket! This means you can add more beans if you like without being limited by the filter capacity. The cleanup is super easy too, though the step of filtering is done outside the machine when you pour the soy milk in the cooking pitcher though the supplied sieve into the supplied plastic pitcher.

Cons:
- The fit of the plastic is not exacly great. There were some gaps in some of the pieces, not what I'd expect for the price I paid. This does not affect the performance of the machine AT ALL, but I'm being honest here so I have to point this out.

- Mine was NOT WHITE, it was an off white colour, like the colour that white plastic gets if you set it in the sun for 5 years, that sort of yellowed colour. Sort of like an old APPLE II computer. This is not really a con, but be warned that the picture is not like what you will get, unless the distrubuter would like to comment on this.

- The pitcher on mine says Soya Power, and the head unit says "Soyapower Plus" so obviously they just put the new head units with whatever pitchers they have. Not a serious con, but weird.

- It ships from the distributer IN THE PRODUCT BOX, there is no enclosing shipping box. Mine came pretty banged up, which is the fault of the shipping company BUT it was not protected from such damage. I was happy to see the unit itself was not damaged, but it very well could have been since the box had holes in it and many dents. This is my biggest beef, though other reviews I've read have praised this as a feature as it uses less resources. This is true, and the unit is packed fairly well in the box, but it was a close call that nothing fell out of my damaged box.

Neither Pro nor Con:
- It has no on/off switch. You plug the power cable into the head unit then press one of the cycle buttons to start. When the cycle is done, it beeps until you unplug it! You will want to detach the power cable from the head anyway when you go to clean the head.OK, so why did I choose this machine over the other HIGHLY RATED other brand "PREMIER" machine? Becuase it is insulated for sound and heat. I have twin babies that go to sleep around 8pm and the only time I have to make the soy milk (one of the kids has milk allergies, hence the need for lots of soymilk!) is after they go to bed. So I when I was making it by hand (to supplement the store bought stuff which was way too sweet or way too bland) I used a blender, but it was loud, plus since I had to filter the bean mash by hand, I didn't like to blend with hot water, for fear of breaking the blender's pitcher and because holding burning hot bean mash is not fun when you're trying to squeeze it. And as I mentioned, if you don't grind the beans in hot water, you get a lot of beany taste. (some mumbo jumbo about enzymes or something...look it up).

I was happy that the sound was a medium volume low rumble instead of the high pitched grinding sound from the blender. Also the plastic surrounding the steel cooking pitcher made it less perilous to touch.

The milk you get is the same taste/feel as any HOME MADE SOY MILK. It is NOT LIKE STORE BOUGHT! Though I'm trying some recipes I found online to make it a bit thicker. I noticed that the soymilk has a slight egg smell, which I like, but my wife hates. It's not intense, sort of like egg custard might smell like. Weird!

All in all, I think this is an excellent product. I wish mine were white instead of 1982 Apple II coloured, and I wish that the plastic trim was a bit better fitting, but these are minor details as the machine makes soymilk like it's supposed to and it is VERY EASY and the cleanup is almost trivial, unlike filter basket machines. I look forward to making other types of "milk" in it!

It would have five stars if it had more refined fit and finish, worthy of the price paid.

Bodum Chambord 5-Ounce Milk Frother Review

Bodum Chambord 5-Ounce Milk FrotherThis product froths milk very nicely and if you like extra frothy milk it is an excellent product. And on this basis alone easily worth five (5) stars. Clean-up and maintenance is a snap as the bottom portion of the frother is easily disassembled and cleaned. I purchased this as a replacement to the previous generation of Bodum Frothers and have found the following challenges while using this product:
a) while frothing the pour spout isn't properly covered by the cap and on occasion foamy milk spills onto the kitchen counter
b) the meshing seems better suited for a French press, which means separating the foam for a pretty cup display is a bit of a challenge (hint, don't use slotted portion of the cap, just pull the entire plunger mechanism out and use a spoon to separate the foam)
c) HOT WHILE HANDLING: admittedly I like my milk as close to burnt without burning, so this sucker is very hot when coming out of the microwave and this is my primary complaint. The previous version had a nice handle connected to the glass easy for gripping the smoking hot vessel while frothing milk. I still have not found a tolerable solution to this.

Good product and does what it says it will do. But if you like really hot milk for frothing you will need to find a solution for holding the hot glass in hand. Otherwise, a really good product.
